sounds like a cake my mother used to make. She called it “german chocolate cake” It was three layers and very dark choc. with a dark sweet choc. icing. You won’t be disappointed if you find the recipe and try it.

try different recipes and try to get as close as you can to that same recipe then add those choc chips and it might come out to the same. Or just find a simple cake recipe then add different kinds of chocolate items and try and make that cake

This Chocolate Rum Cake is baked in a bundt pan. It was passed to me by a friend, it makes an excellent desert and is fun/easy to make:
Gail’s Rum Cake
1 box Duncan Hines Deluxe II Devils Food Cake Mis 1 pkg Jello instant chocolate pudding (the small box)
1 8 oz.sour cream
4 eggs
1/2 c. strong coffee (liquid)
1/4 c. rum
1/3 c. oil
Mix all ingredients together with mixer speed on low for about 30 seconds. Then beat for 2 minutes on medium speed. Fold in one 12 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Bake in greased bundt pan at 350 for 40-50 minutes.
Let cool for at least 10 minutes before taking out of pan.
Best way is to put the cake plate that you want to use over the cake and flip the bundt pan over.
I usually make a 1/2 c. of instant coffee for the strong coffee ingredient.
